Susan Kish is a senior executive with more than two decades of experience in financial services, renewable energies, networks and building businesses.
Susan is currently the Director of Knowledge Services at New Energy Finance, the leading independent provider of global research to decision-makers in renewable energy, energy efficiency, biofuels, carbon capture and storage, nuclear power and the carbon markets, with headquarters in London and offices worldwide.
Previously, Susan had co-founded in 1999 and was the CEO of First Tuesday Zurich, a highly regarded independent think-tank that supported the development of thought leader networks and innovative knowledge sharing in sustainable energy, information technology, mobile/telecom, financial services, nano - and biotech. The firm focused on generating strategic dialogue and collaborative learning, through techniques such as effective scenario planning and war gaming. First Tuesday Zurich’s forums, workshops, and awards were attended by over 23,000 people. After First Tuesday Zurich was acquired in 2006 by the global professional online network XING, she became XING's Head of Network and Community Practice.
She is also a director and co-founder of the Energy Venture Forum, the foundation which established and produces the European Energy Venture Fair in Zurich, which she hosts every fall. Susan moderates the annual international Nano-Regulation conference in St. Gallen (conference report/PDF).
Susan was with UBS for more than 14 years, most recently as Global Functional Head of Structured Finance and then in Private Banking, based in Zurich. Before moving to Europe in 1995, she held a variety of executive positions at UBS in New York, where she was responsible for their successful entry into several new financial markets and products.
Ms. Kish is an experienced public speaker and facilitator at corporate events and universities, on topics including networks, innovation, and risk. She is an independent Director on several boards, and supports various initiatives including as a Jury Member for the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year. She graduated from Harvard University, and lives with her family in Zurich, Switzerland.
